Fixes from Search Console

New titles, descriptions and links for pages close to page 1 and pages that are seen but rarely clicked.

Which pages

Gralus reads which page Google showed for which search over the last 28 days and finds two kinds of page:

  • Close to page 1: Google shows the page at #4 to #15 for searches seen at least 20 times. A title and description that match those searches, and links from related pages, usually lift it onto page 1.
  • Seen but rarely clicked: the page is on page 1, seen at least 200 times, but fewer than half as many people click it as usually click a result at that position. Its title and description don't make the click worth it.

Both lists are on Search traffic, under “Pages Gralus fixes from this data”.

What Gralus writes

For each page, a new SEO title and meta description, written from the page's own text, your brand profile and the searches Google shows it for. For pages close to page 1, Gralus also suggests links to them from related posts and pages, using the words people search for. Everything waits in Approvals; the title and description are published through Yoast SEO, Rank Math or the Gralus plugin, and Undo puts back the old ones.

When morning drafts are on, Gralus writes these once a week, up to 3 pages of each kind, and never touches a page whose title was changed in the last 30 days, so Google has time to show the effect. “Write the fixes now” on Search traffic does it straight away.
